  8. OVERVIEW
  9. --------
  10.  
  11. MirrorManager is a management system for downloads from your Aminet site.
  12. Here is a short overview of what MirrorManager can do for you:
  13.  
  14. + Scan the files in your incoming directory and add filenotes according
  15.   to the `Short' information given in the Aminet INDEX file
  16.  
  17. + Create the Aminet directory hierarchy on your system (your local Aminet
  18.   mirror) from the Aminet TREE file
  19.  
  20. + Move the files in your incoming directory to your local Aminet mirror
  21.   directory tree
  22.  
  23. + Create a LOCAL index file from the files available in your Aminet mirror
  24.   directory tree
  25.  
  26. + Compare your LOCAL index file with the actual Aminet INDEX file in order
  27.   to find changes and new revisions
  28.  
  29.  
  30. INSTALLATION
  31. ------------
  32.  
  33. You are strongly urged to use the supplied installer script to install
  34. MirrorManager!
  35.  
  36. (1) The supplied installer script will create a `MirrorManager' directory
  37.     and copy the desired files coming with this package into it.
  38.  
  39. (2) If you installed the GUI application then you also have to tell
  40.     MirrorManager about a number of path and filenames.
  41.     Click the Configure icon in the MirrorManager/rexx/ drawer to do this.
  42.  
  43. NO OTHER MODIFICATIONS TO YOUR SYSTEM WILL BE MADE !

  49. + THIS IS A BETA VERSION !!!
  50.   Read the History and Distfiles for more information!
  51.  
  52. + The docs are not yet updated, they are still as of version 1.5
  53.   We know that!  Please do not report it!

  55. + I've included my default configuration script in rexx/MirrorManager.rexx.
  56.   This script contains absolute pathnames for my personal installation only!
  57.   Please edit this script and change these values if needed before you use it
  58.   or use rexx/Configure to setup MirrorManager for your system.
  59.  
  60. + Example data files which can be used with some scripts like CleanupIncoming
  61.   and ExamineIndex can be found in the `xtras' drawer.
  62.  
  63. + Here is how to read the archive filename:
